BMW has been recognized to create some of the top driver’s cars on the planet as Toyota’s know-how lies in rising hybrids and electric vehicles. In 2006, Toyota killed off its most recent sports car, the Celica to modernize costs and more prominently to scheme an eco friendly representation.
Though, Toyota understands that they require catering to the enthusiast marketplace to wait in adjust with the times. The result was their teamwork with Subaru to build up the Toyota FT-86 sports car idea which is a rear-wheel drive sensation.
Now, the Japanese car maker is looking to up the game further by collaborating with BMW to develop an eco friendly sports car. The collaboration will allow BMW to benefit from fuel cell development and electric drivetrain from the Japanese car maker, while Toyota can benefit from BMW’s use of lightweight materials such as carbon fibre, perfect weight distribution and razor sharp drive dynamics.
The future sports cars from the two iconic makes may result in hybrid or electric sports cars along the lines of the legendary Toyota Supra which can be based on the BMW 6 Series, the Toyota Celica could be revived as well which can be based on the BMW 3 Series platform.
What the outcome will be remains to be seen. But rest assured, the result will almost certainly be for the better of future performance cars.
